Student Organization updates
DECEMBER 17, 2024
Hello Student Leader:
We hope the end of your semester is wrapping up well! Before you head out for break, we wanted to share some important reminders about next semester.
Leadership Transition
If your organization selected December/January leadership transition on your JumboLife organization registration form, your page has been put into Transition. Every member with admin access to your JumboLife page should have received an email with the link to the Transition Form. Only one person from each organization needs to complete it. Until it is completed, you will not be able to submit events or update your roster. Please be sure to review these directions in advance and utilize our transition resources. If you need admin access granted to an e-board member, please email jumbolife@tufts.edu

Important Spring Dates
  • Monday, January 8 (UPDATED): Spring 2025 non-academic spaces are available for reservation on ReserveTufts by 10am
  • Tuesday, January 14: Spring 2025 academic spaces are available for reservation on ReserveTufts by 10am
  • Wednesday, January 15: First day Spring 2025 student organization events, meetings, travel or auditions may occur

Space Reservations
Space reservations in non-academic spaces for the Spring 2025 semester will open on January 8, 2025. Space reservations for academic spaces will open on January 14, 2025.
Any requests for academic spaces dated between January 15th and January 22nd will be approved one business day prior. Reservation requests dated beyond January 22nd will not be approved before that date, to allow for the academic schedule to be finalized. As always, please be aware that academic courses have priority in academic spaces. All student organization requests in academic spaces are subject to change if a class needs to be switched into that space.
If you need to update your ReserveTufts contact person, please update your JumboLife organization registration form

The Tufts Community Union Judiciary Board is now accepting nominations for the annual student organization awards at https://go.tufts.edu/2025orgawards. Submit your fall programs now while they're fresh in your mind! The annual Student Organization Award Ceremony will take place in April. Check out award information and updates here

TCUJ Re-Recognition & FY26 Budgets
During the Spring semester, the TCU Judiciary will begin the student organization re-recognition process. Please be sure to review re-recognition criteria. All events must be submitted through JumboLife.
If you need to complete an event registration form for an event that has already happened, please select the month & day that the event took place, a year in the future. In the event description, include the real date and note that the event needs to be backdated.
For TCU Funded organizations, following the break, please be on the lookout for communication from the TCU Treasury about FY26 budget processes. If you have signatories going abroad or graduating early, please be sure to make updates to your JumboLife page.

Funding Resources
Looking for funding resources outside of the TCU Treasury?
  • Global Tufts Mini-Grants: Announcing Global Tufts Month, March 1st-31st, 2025 --event funding is available! The Office of the Provost invites the Tufts community to host and attend events related to this year’s Global Tufts Month theme: Global Health Equity. Global Tufts Month events aim to foster cross-boundary dialogue and learning, transcending national and cultural barriers, and can range from lectures, film showings, cultural events, social programs, and more. Mini-grants up to $500 are available for event funding - submit a grant proposal by February 4!
  • The Tisch Fund provides funding for student groups and organizations, or individual students who plan to engage students and groups from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines in their work. Priority will be given to projects that also engage communities beyond the Tufts campus in a meaningful and ethical way.
  • Student Fundraising with Tufts Student Giving (TSG)  is another option for funding the mission-driven work of your organization. With options like tabling with TSG, April Giving, Giving Tuesday, and crowdfunding, TSG can help organizations reach their fundraising goals. To learn more, check out this info sheet
As always, don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!
