RE: Follow-up to Yesterday’s Safety Message - Suspect Apprehended

I want to briefly update the University community with the news that a suspect has been apprehended in the Thursday attack on an NYU student near the 404 Lafayette fitness facility, an incident about which we issued a safety message yesterday evening.

For the Campus Safety Department, there is no higher priority than the safety and welfare of the members of the NYU community.  We are available to help 24/7 through our emergency communications center at 212.998.2222 or through the Safe NYU app.  Prompt reporting of crimes, as in this case, to 9-1-1 or Campus Safety permits a faster and more effective response, thereby enhancing community safety.

I also want to remind students of the round-the-clock assistance available through the Wellness Exchange (212.443.9999) and employees of the University’s Employee Assistance Program.
