| Traveling internationally over the semester break?
Export control regulations are frequently changing and may apply to your planned international activities. Please contact the Office of Research Compliance and Integrity at least 30 days (if possible) prior to departure if you will be traveling internationally on behalf of GVSU and/or taking any GVSU equipment, such as a GVSU laptop. ORCI staff will review your planned activities and alert you of any potential export control concerns/restrictions. Note that the office will be closed during the University's winter break (December 20 - January 4).

|
|
| Classroom Presentations
The ORCI is currently scheduling classroom presentations for the Winter semester. If you are interested in having a representative from the ORCI and/or the Institutional Review Board (IRB) serve as a guest presenter in your classroom to discuss research ethics/compliance topics (i.e., human subjects research, responsible conduct of research, etc.), please contact the ORCI at rci@gvsu.edu. We will try to accommodate as many requests as possible.

| Plan Ahead for January Deadlines
If you have an upcoming January deadline, please be in touch with your Grants and Contracts Specialist ASAP! With GVSU closed from December 20 to January 4, and the possibility of additional vacation days for your approvers, we need to plan extra time for managing GVSU internal approvals. As a reminder, you must submit for approvals in OneAegis at least 5 business days before your deadline, with a final, OSP-approved budget and budget justification. If your deadline falls before January 9th, 2026, we recommend you submit for approvals by December 15th.

| OSP is revamping our website!
We are hard at work improving the OSP website, and are excited to share that we've completely overhauled our page about managing your award, and it now has information about many aspects of post-award and compliance, which we hope will be handy. More changes to come!
