In 1974, Beth Quay graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in industrial engineering. She began working on a master’s degree in applied statistics, but as she puts it, “Life happened,” and she didn’t finish. Today, she is finishing what she started long ago as she earns her master’s in analytics from Georgia Tech.

Antonia Nunley’s interest in cybersecurity and computer science started at an early age. As she graduates this weekend, she hopes to get more women interested in the field as well.

Vikwato Kamanga had one of the longest journeys to his Commencement ceremony this weekend. The native of Lusaka, Zambia, made the 29-hour trip to celebrate earning his M.S. in analytics. It’s the first time Kamanga has been to this country.

| Lizanne DeStefano, executive director of Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing, was among the guests invited to attend the inaugural summit this week.

Jacob Blevins helps ensure that labs and makerspaces in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering are kept in top shape. He has also turned a hobby into a passion, becoming a member of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus.
