BASICS OF HACCP
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) training is required by USDA-FSIS for its inspected facilities and many food manufacturers and wholesalers require their suppliers and vendors to have a working and audited HACCP plan.
HACCP is also required for most advanced third-party auditing schemes, including SQF.

One of the most significant new FDA rules is the Preventive Controls for Human Food rule. This rule states that every human food manufacturer, except for the very smallest who will have modified requirements, must have somebody on staff who has completed a Preventive Controls for Human Food class.

Office of Legal Immigration
The 2023 Legislature passed, and Gov. Doug Burgum signed, legislation creating the Office of Legal Immigration (OLI) within Commerce to help businesses recruit and retain foreign labor and address the state’s workforce challenges. The bill required Commerce to conduct a study – with input from employers – on barriers and opportunities related to employing foreign-born workers.
