• On Thursday, Associate Professor of Practice in Political Science
Ivan Rasmussen spoke on contemporary geopolitical tensions and the perception that the world has entered a New Cold War. He examined five cases: proxy conflicts, economic decoupling, technological divisions, ideological differences, and international institutional orders and explored whether countries allied with the United States were more or less likely to participate in the Chinese-led Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
• The
Chinese Language Program, in collaboration with the
Center for Teaching and Learning and the
Community-Engaged Learning office, hosted a delegation of 16 Chinese language instructors from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s Modern Language Center on February 14. During their visit, participants discussed language education and pedagogy.

字圆其说 · I Got One project, opened this week on East 4th floor and will remain on display till March 26. “A Cosmos Within Chinese Characters: Creative Chinese Characters in a Multicultural Lens” showcases intercultural perspectives on Chinese characters from students coming from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
