From Big Ideas to Bright Futures: Kidpreneurs Launch Their Entrepreneurial Journey!

|
Every successful business begins with an idea—and this summer, Big Bend children are discovering that they have what it takes to bring their own ideas to life. Through the Kidpreneur Summer Business Learning Program, aspiring entrepreneurs ages 8–12 are exploring the fundamentals of business in a fun, hands-on environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and confidence. Hosted by the Early Learning Coalition of the Big Bend Region in partnership with the Capital City Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Office of Economic Vitality (OEV), the free program is helping inspire the next generation of innovators while building skills that will benefit participants for years to come.

The program kicked off with its first workshop, where young entrepreneurs and their families worked together to lay the foundation for their future businesses. Participants developed business plans, selected business names, created memorable slogans, and designed original logos, while caregivers played an active role in encouraging and supporting each step of the process. Throughout the summer, Kidpreneurs will continue transforming their ideas into viable business concepts before showcasing them in a marketplace experience. By introducing entrepreneurship at an early age, the program is helping cultivate the creativity, resilience, and problem-solving skills that contribute to a stronger future workforce and a more vibrant economy in Tallahassee-Leon County.
