Last year about this same time, I was looking forward to 2017 as the incoming Chair for the OD Network. My focus then, and throughout the year, was the business of the Network, specifically our sustainability. Now, as 2018 approaches and I am reflecting on the last 12 months, I would like to highlight some of the things that we — your board, staff and numerous volunteers — have accomplished on behalf of our Network.

As your professional organization, we are dedicated to showcasing our members’ creativity, hard work and innovations that advance the science, practice and impact through our many different engagements and networking opportunities. Given the changing landscape of the world around us, the benefits of the OD Network remain vital to your success as we provide the opportunity to CONNECT, GROW and IMPACT. We are thrilled to announce that beginning January 1, 2018, the OD Network Practitioner Self-Assessment will be available as a MEMBER BENEFIT! This new benefit will help members assess their current level of expertise and will offer recommendations to get you to the next level. To join the OD Network: - Visit the OD Network website and select the membership type that is right for you. Follow the prompts to set up your member profile. When you complete the application process, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to download a receipt.
To renew your membership: - Visit the OD Network website and sign in with your username and password, then click on "Renew Your Membership" and follow the prompts. When you complete the renewal process, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to download a receipt.

| Affiliate Highlight: Atlanta Organization Change Alliance

| The Organization Change Alliance (OCA) has been serving Atlanta for over two decades. As the local OD Network affiliate, OCA is an association where Organization Development (OD) and Change Management practitioners lead, learn and lend their knowledge and skills to positively impact our practices. To learn more about what is going on at OCA, Dr. Tiffany Yates, PhD (past OCA Chair) conducted interviews with the current leadership. Mr. Rich Litner (OCA Chair) and Ms. Angelique Denius (OCA Chair-Elect) share their perspectives on the field of OD and what makes OCA different.

| Pro Bono Possibilities: Capturing the Curiosity of Student Members

| In the early eighties, the “hundredth monkey effect” postulated that when enough monkeys — or people — catch on to a better way of doing things, then the idea suddenly spreads into the awareness of many others. Whether truth or pseudoscience, we can all agree that “great minds think alike.” OD Network is excited to be part of a fresh idea emerging in hearts and minds of many, including a new team of graduate students from our academic partner school, the University of San Francisco.

In 2017, the OD Network attracted over 50 volunteers for placement on strategic initiatives. Opportunities included participation on Global Practitioner Development, Certification, Global ODN Growth, Communications, ODEA and Academic Partnerships, and the 2017 OD Network Conference. The OD Network could not have achieved what it did this past year without the input and dedication received from each of our very talented volunteers. Each volunteer opportunity is aligned with the OD Network's strategic initiatives, so as volunteers, we know we're contributing in clear and meaningful ways. Our volunteer efforts will continue to advance the Network's mission in 2018 and beyond. In the New Year, our primary focus will be on Global Practitioner Development, and we'll continue to need talented volunteers with fresh ideas. If you are interested in joining this exciting committee, please express your interest on the Volunteer page on the OD Network website.
