SCHOOL NOTES FROM MRS. WOODMAN
Dear Families and Friends,
This week has been a busy one at 3105 Belmont Boulevard! The Principal Q and A on Monday attracted a number of families and we had a beneficial exchange of ideas. I appreciate the participation of all who came.
I hosted the principals’ meeting for the Catholic Schools Office on Tuesday during which we heard about new learning resources and upcoming events in our community. One event of note is the Celebrating Catholic Education Event on May 6 at Holy Family Church. This event will benefit students at the parochial schools who most need tuition assistance. I plan to attend and hope to see many CTK families there. Proceeds from this fundraiser will supplement tuition assistance that our parish provides to our families who need it.
Mrs. McLaughlin’s guitar students held their Spring Guitar Gig on Wednesday, showing off their musical growth for their parents. This morning our band, chorus, and music students gave a beautiful concert of “feel good” songs to the theme of peace, love, and family. Mrs. Schwarz and Mr. Schletzer deserve high praise for the quality of the performance, as do the students themselves. When I went into the cafeteria during Morning Care and heard the sweet voices of the kindergarteners practicing "Let There Be Peace On Earth" without adult direction, I was reminded once again of why CKS is such a wonderful school.
Our eighth graders leave early Monday morning for South Bend and Chicago for their class trip. Please keep them in your prayers next week as they tour Notre Dame, explore museums, and enjoy a Cubs game. They have worked hard this year to be ready for this trip.
Congratulations to Mrs. Anna Beth Godfrey and husband, Stephen, on the arrival of baby James Gray Godfrey Wednesday morning. He was a whopping 9 lbs. 5 oz.! Mother and baby are doing well. Mrs. Jeanette Neuhoff Vogt '76 became a first-time grandmother on good Friday when daughter Kristen Vogt Whitney (‘02) gave birth to petite Olivia Neuhoff Whitney eight weeks early. This tiny girl is gaining weight and doing well. Welcome to these little Raiders!
Sincerely,
Sherry Woodman
Principal
