What social justice issue are you most passionate about? Definitely, mental health. I feel like this is still an uncomfortable topic for some people. Issues with mental health should be thought of in the same way that we think of any other health issues. It is not a shameful thing to need help with mental health. Most of us will have mental health challenges at some point in our lives and it is important to get any needed help.
What is your favorite Jewish song or prayer? I am a huge fan of contemporary interpretations of prayers. To me, music adds another layer of spirituality to prayers. My personal favorite songs are Sweet Dance (Mi Chamocha) by Beth Schaffer and L'Dor Vador by Josh Nelson.
What famous person or people inspire you? Ruth Bader Ginsberg and Elie Wiesel. Elie Wiesel inspired me through his never-ending belief in the good of humanity, his passion to speak up and speak out, and his kindness and friendship after we met. Ruth Bader Ginsberg inspired me by her determination, her sense of doing what is right, and her sense of humor about life.
What makes WRJ so special to you? The women that have become my friends and mentors are the most special to me. Finding others who are passionate about life and having so much in common with them makes my heart happy.

| Skill Building with WRJ: DEI Workshop with Avodah
WRJ has been in the midst of a long-term process to examine both the visible and invisible identities within our community. In this workshop, we'll continue to build our skills for how to make sure that everyone in our community feels a genuine sense of belonging. We'll delve into some specific areas of difference, learn from the stories of some members of our community who have experienced harm, and more. The workshop will be led by Sarra Alpert, Director of the Avodah Institute for Social Change.

| A New Northeast Blog Article
Check out a new WRJ blog article "Supporting WRJ's YES Fund - A Lifetime of Lifelines," from Northeast District's past president, Trina Novak.
"I joined my sisterhood and the National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods, now Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ), primarily to form connections with other like-minded Jewish women. Joining a robust sisterhood with several members actively engaged in the district and North American levels led to knowledge and enthusiasm about the YES Fund. I was inspired by stories of WRJ’s fundraising efforts in support of future clergy, our youth movement, and special projects uplifting our progressive values."
