High Altitude Inspiration- Meet the X-STEM All Access Speakers!

X-STEM All Access – presented by AstraZeneca, DoD STEM, and the U.S. Air Force – is a free virtual conference series designed to showcase diversity and inspire students about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Each episode will feature multiple speakers ready to ignite students' curiosity with topics such as environmental engineering, marine biology, shark science, water conservation, neuroscience, superhero science, and more. Hear about Captain Barrington Irving's journey in aviation as the youngest and first Black pilot to fly around the world. Captain Irving shares how his experience has inspired him to give back through his program, The Flying Classroom!

This amazing teacher uses a unique experiment for her lessons on the carbon cycle! Your Spark of STEM for the week is a demo that shows how carbon dioxide is denser than the surrounding air. Becca has her students read an article about Lake Nyos, a volcanic lake that overturned and released dissolved CO2, to expand on this lesson.

In support of encouraging girls to become women that make STEM history, we are aiming to commit space at our virtual SciFest All Access Festival to Girls in STEM!
