The Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology

The USA Science & Engineering Festival joins CGEST as a DoD STEM | DSEC partner.

The Center for Gender Equity in Science and Technology at Arizona State University was established in 2016 as a one-of-a-kind research unit to address the lack of women and girls, especially those belonging to diverse racial, ethnic, and social class groups, among STEM fields. They strive to address this gap by owning, generating, and critiquing the collective body of research, offering culturally responsive STEM education programs. For more information on CGEST and to keep up to date on their programs check out their monthly newsletter here.

High School Student Opportunity!

Naval Horizons introduces students to cutting-edge STEM topics that impact the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. High school students are invited to learn about Naval scientists, engineers, and their STEM challenges through a unique video series. Students are then encouraged to write an essay, explaining how Naval research and people inspire them. This contest challenges students to picture themselves in a STEM career by designing the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps of the future!

The Essay contest is currently open now through July 30, 2021. Winners will be announced on August 30, 2021.
