Due Soon: Applications for the New NSDA Competition and Rules Leadership Committee
|
The new Competition and Rules Leadership Committee will serve as a decision-making body dedicated to issues that focus on NSDA competitions and rules. We've extended the deadline to submit an application to serve on the committee to Friday, January 26.
Eligibility
Any member coach of any age with five years of NSDA coaching experience, who is listed as a member coach of record at an active member school, may become a candidate for election or appointment to the CR Leadership Committee. In 2024, candidates in the following regions will be eligible to run for election:
- California Region (all CA)

Northern Midwest Region (IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, WI)
- East/Northeast Region (CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, VT, WV)
- Northwest/Northwest Central Region (AK, ID, MT, ND, NE, OR, SD, WA, WY)
Candidacy

Candidates seeking election may submit an application, including a statement of 400 words or less and a high resolution photo, by January 26. Those wishing to nominate an individual for election should complete this form. Statements will be made available to voters leading up to the election.

Those wishing to nominate an individual for appointment should complete this form. In 2024, the Executive Director will appoint an international representative, a middle school representative, and one other member (no NSDA affiliation necessary).

Registration Now Open for the Last-Chance Qualifier
|
The Last-Chance Qualifier is a free online NSDA tournament opportunity held April 25-27 for students who did not qualify through their district tournament to have a chance to attend the 2024 National Tournament in their main event. Registration is now open and closes April 19.

Activating Equity Award Nominations Are Open!
|
Nominations are now being accepted for the Activating Equity Award! We are excited to recognize a group, or a group of individuals, who have dedicated themselves to building a culture of equity in middle school and high school speech and debate. The winning nomination will receive $5,000 toward their mission and special recognition at the National Tournament. Nominations are due March 1!
