A year after the Biden Administration's National Security Memorandum on Agricultural Security and Resilience (NSM-16), the Scowcroft Institute of International Affairs is convening stakeholders from academia, industry, and government to identify promising approaches for safeguarding our food system against biological threats and policy actions needed to support these efforts. The event will include a keynote address by David Stiefel, former Director for Biodefense at the US National Security Council, followed by a panel discussion on the potential for new technology to strengthen agricultural resilience with an opportunity for audience Q&A.

The Bush School’s Center for Nonprofits and Philanthropy invites leaders to a conference to build relationships and collaborate across sectors to address social and policy issues in Texas communities. The event provides opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and strategy building to empower leaders to drive social change through university-community partnerships.

Disaster PRIMR 2024 Conference presents opportunities to discuss and explore these challenges and identify innovative and meaningful strategies and techniques to mitigate them and improve the resilience of communities throughout. This year’s conference will focus on the challenges in rural and tribal communities, including heirs’ property rights and gentrification, the impacts of environmental-driven catastrophes, accessibility challenges, and many more.
*There will also be a career fair mixer for students at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at the event location for students to explore potential employment or graduate studies opportunities following graduation.
