New Jersey has long been the butt of many jokes. But on a recent road trip to my home state, I once again marveled at the cleanliness of the Garden State Parkway. It is virtually litter-free, the grass is manicured, and they even have huge patches of wildflowers that bloom in the late summer. New Jersey is clearly working hard to maintain its "Garden State" moniker.
Here in Massachusetts, it's clear that we can do better, but we'll need support from state leaders to achieve meaningful change. Scroll down to learn how you can support our effort to launch a statewide Litter Prevention & Cleanup Task Force, along with other actions you can take to keep Massachusetts beautiful.

Help Us Make Massachusetts Shine
Support for our Leaders Against Litter campaign is growing, but we need more people like YOU to contact your state leaders and urge the Massachusetts legislature to take action to clean up our state! Senate Resolve 2390 calls for the creation of a statewide litter prevention and cleanup task force.
So far, 5,475 people have signed our online petition, and 14 state Senators and Representatives have co-signed S. 2390. Recent supporters include Senator Michael Moore and Representatives James Arena-Derosa, Brian Murray, Patrick O'Connor, and Dennis Gallagher.
Visit our website for an email or letter template and a link to find contact information for your state representative and senator. Let’s do this!

Congratulations to Our 2025 Next-Gen Environmental Leader Scholarship Winner
Congratulations to Anthony Wozniak, who was recently selected as the winner of our 2025 Next-Gen Environmental Leader Scholarship! Anthony is a first-year student studying environmental science at Fitchburg State University.
Before entering college, Anthony demonstrated a strong passion for the environment by enrolling in an online Environmental Science course during his 8th-grade year. This early exposure laid a strong foundation that propelled him through a rigorous curriculum, including numerous honors and Advanced Placement Environmental Science courses. He also participated in the National Student Leadership Conference at Yale University last summer, which provided him with a deeper understanding of the field and reinforced his desire to make a tangible impact on environmental issues.
Congratulations to Anthony and best wishes for great success in college!

Quotable: “If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen.” — Henry David Thoreau
