GET INVOLVED
World Speech Day Activities » Don’t forget to plan an activity for your students and school on March 15. We've outlined several ideas for hosting large group/whole school events on our website, including a Celebrate Expression Assembly, a Guest Speaker Assembly, and a Town Hall Meeting. If you schedule an event, register it at www.worldspeechdayevents.com. Be sure to include "NSDA" in the title of the event (e.g., North High School NSDA Assembly). If your school is on Spring Break that week, encourage everyone to participate in the YouTube video contest! Details can be found at www.speechanddebate.org/worldspeechday.
DISTRICT TOURNAMENT REMINDERS
National Congress Legislation – Due April 1 » District chairs are encouraged to submit legislation from their district for the National Congress by April 1. Chairs must UPLOAD up to two items of legislation, preferably one bill and one resolution, via the Points Application. All legislation must be submitted as Word documents. Districts that hold their Congress tournament after April 1 must seek input of coaches and students BEFORE the deadline in order to submit legislation.

Student of the Year Nominations – Due April 15 » Member coaches may nominate their graduating seniors for District Student of the Year by using this form and emailing it to their district chair. As a reminder, district chairs must UPLOAD a PDF of the winning nomination form via the Points Application no later than April 15 for consideration as National Student of the Year. If a district holds its tournament series after April 15, the District Committee should determine a means of selecting the winner prior to that.
