New Graduate Assistant Orientation |
A warm welcome to our new graduate assistants beginning their positions in Spring 2026! In preparation for the new semester and your upcoming position, please take a look at our new graduate assistant orientation event and onboarding resources.

The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) will be hosting an online orientation for all new graduate assistants. We will cover topics such as compensation, benefits & support, supervisor relationships, and much more. Make sure to RSVP via the event page linked below. But don't worry! Even if you can't make it, we will be recording the session and posting it on our website.

Additionally, you can visit the OGSAF website below to take a look at our onboarding resources for new graduate assistants. This includes important requirements that must be completed before beginning work, as well as helpful information on compensation and pay timetables to help better plan your finances.

Please note that all graduate assistantship positions are owned and managed directly by program and OGSAF does not offer any graduate assistantships. Please contact your program directly for any inquiries on the availability and eligibility of any positions.

The Global Food Institute (GFI) is Hiring a Graduate Student Assistant |
Are you super organized? Love creating efficient processes? Excited to play a leading role in GFI’s new partnership with the Aspen Institute?
The Global Food Institute at GW is hiring a a Graduate Student Assistant at 10-15 hours/week to support it’s partnership with the Aspen Institute’s Food Leaders Fellowship — a groundbreaking new partnership aimed at fostering connection and collaborative research and events between Food Leaders Fellows and GW faculty, staff, and students. This Masters or PhD level graduate student position will support GFI’s new partnership with the Aspen Food Leaders Fellowship, as well as provide additional support to GFI, as time allows.

Monthly Payment Plan for Spring Semester |
The monthly payment plan enables students or their authorized users to pay current fall semester tuition and fees in equal payments throughout the semester. The plan is interest-free as long as monthly payments are made on time and in full.

AmeriCorps Matching Award |
Award Details: AmeriCorps alumni interested in using their Segal Education Award for graduate study at the George Washington University may be eligible to have their award matched by GW.
Deadlines: Beginning in Academic Year 2025-26, students must submit their AmeriCorps matching applications by the following dates.

Eligibility Requirements (for students beginning graduate school in Spring 2026):

- Graduated from a GW bachelor's degree program in Spring 2025, Summer 2025 or Fall 2025
- Acceptance and enrollment in an eligible GW master's degree program or graduate certificate (eligible programs list)

Continuous enrollment for all semesters until the master's degree or graduate certificate is earned (summer registration is allowed, but not required)
