THE PUGET SOUND AT PUGET SOUND In honor of Earth Day, a three-story-tall banner was hung on Jones Hall. The installation, titled Puget Sound, was the work of environmental artist Sukey Bryan P’20, who specializes in painting, printmaking, and public art. “Designed for Earth Day, this photograph of surface ripples on Puget Sound near Tacoma’s Dickman Park is a kind of visual pun on the university’s name,” wrote Bryan in an artist statement. “It celebrates the beauty of the waterway, the primacy of water in our environment, and our love and dedication to the protection of the Sound and its life forms.”
