Clearwater Cove Officially Opens!

On February 5th, Clearwater Cove welcomed in the first outreach weekend for Young Life. It was a typical Young Life camp opening where the camp staff was running around behind the scenes finishing up projects as busses from all over Missouri started arriving. But congrats to the team at CWC because they got it all set up in time for kids to have the best weekend of their lives. There is a lot more to come for this great camp of the Ozarks and this was a great start and a life-changing experience for many of those campers who enjoyed camp to the fullest hearing about Jesus Christ.

What's next for Clearwater Cove? We still need $1.4 million to complete the pool, the office Infirmary building and adventure elements. Please join us in praying that the final funds will be committed by the June 5th Open House/Dedication/Celebration. One day later on June 6, the first 200 summer campers will arrive at Clearwater Cove. Please pray for the contractors, the property staff and a small army of volunteers as they prepare Clearwater Cove to hand off to the first assigned team. They are poised and ready to share the gospel….the good news…..that regardless of our human failings, God loves us!

Big Things to Happen at Castaway for the Next 50 Years:

For over 50 years Castaway has been a mainstay in our national camping strategy. Over the years, thousands of kids began their journey with Jesus at Castaway. Now is the time to expand and enhance Castaway and prepare it for the next 50 years. We are excited to report the completion of a Castaway feasibility study and with it the birth of a new Castaway capital campaign. The Castaway property team along with our national camping department have identified $7-8 million in capital projects that will position Castaway for next 50 years. An Executive Campaign Committee is being formed to help us raise up the resources to fund the campaign. Please join us in asking God to lead us to the people he has prepared to fund the campaign. Pray for open hearts, open minds and open checkbooks. His kingdom come, His will be done!

Timber Wolf Lake:

To say that God has blessed Timber Wolf over the years would be an understatement and He is still moving today in incredible ways. Recently TWL raised the $700,000 to build the office/infirmary project and it has proven to be an incredible addition to the camp. The only remaining unfunded projects at Timber Wolf are the Doctors Quarters and the Hot Tub complex. Please pray that God would open the hearts and minds of donors to provide the final $1 million in funding.

2016 Summer Projections:

Timber Wolf Lake recently hosted the assignment team training time for all of our Midwest camps and with that comes the realization that while there is snow on the ground, summer is quickly approaching. A quick glance at the current reservation numbers tell us that we should be hosting another full summer at all of our camps. Time to break out the shorts and Chacos and get our camps ready for summer.

Below are the summer projections for 2016:

TWL: 4,759 campers and leaders

CAS: 3,259 campers and leaders

CWC: 1,718 campers and leaders

MIC: 1,175 campers and leaders

College Work Weeks:
