DON'T MISS THE FALL PLAY: MIDSUMMER/JERSEY
This year's fall play, Midsummer/Jersey, is Ken Ludwig's "hilarious high-octane re-telling of Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream set on the boardwalk of a seaside town in  modern-day New Jersey."
GRANDPARENTS' DAY IS NOVEMBER 26!
We love our Griffin Grandparents! On Tuesday, November 26, from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm, grandparents and grand “friends” are invited to spend the day on campus and experience their grandchild’s life at Santa Fe Prep. Lunch is included!
Please RSVP to Advancement Associate Julia Abbiss by November 15.
TRAFFIC MATTERS
A few reminders on vehicle traffic to keep our students (and all drivers) safe as we head into winter:

1) Please do not park on both sides of San Acacio (the street between Brennand Field and the Meem) when you are waiting for your child at after-school pick-up. We need to allow traffic
to flow through.

2) In the front circle, park only around the outside at pick-up—and not on the inside near the stone walls. Again, we need to ensure safe circulation.

3) Parents should not drop off students in the IHM parking lot—nor use that as a cut-through to the Prep entrance. The IHM is for student/visitor parking only.

Thanks for your care for our students crossing as you pull in and out of the Prep entrance at morning drop-off. Your graciousness is appreciated!

MIDDLE SCHOOL MINI-CONFERENCE:
BREAKING DOWN BIASES
On November 13, Middle School students will end classes at lunchtime and spend the afternoon in a mini-conference. The theme of this year's conference is Breaking Down Bias. Through activities and guest speakers, students will learn about how unconscious biases and beliefs we may hold can negatively impact our view of the world and our relationships. Topics will include poverty, gender, and mental health. Please contact Claire Romero with any questions.
FROM THE PARENTS' ASSOCIATION

CALL FOR RUMMAGE DONATIONS!

This is a great time of year to go through your garage and home and think of our community Rummage Sale! We will hold our first rummage drop-off at Prep on Thursday, November 14 from 8:00 - 8:30 am. Please bring your items to our storage container behind the gym. We are looking for gently used and clean items – furniture, sports equipment, clothing, toys, jewelry, designer clothing, etc. We don't accept mattresses, textbooks, encyclopedias, old electronics or ski gear older than five years. For more information, please contact Rummage Chair Julie Murray at 505.501.2150.

HELP US PROVIDE COATS TO CHILDREN IN NEED

The PA has committed to providing 58 NEW coats for students from El Camino Real Academy, a 100% free and reduced lunch school. Communities In Schools New Mexico (CISNM) has specifically identified 140 students at this school that will need a winter coat this year. We have placed a display in the front foyer of the school which will have 58 tags specifying the coat size for a child in need. If you would like to purchase a coat, please take a tag, and then return the tag and your purchased coat to the school. The deadline for donations will be December 2nd.  Additional details and instructions have been sent to parents. Please contact Cameron Anderson or Hunter Redman with any questions.
ANONYMO/US PROJECT
  • If your mental health were a pet animal, what kind would it be and why?
  • When do you feel most attractive/confident/desirable?
  • What's one thought that keeps you up at night?
  • What's one thing you wish you could tell the Prep community?
These are questions asked as part of the Anonymo/us Project, which provides students a space to share and be heard and will culminate in a theatrical production inspired by language from student submissions. Juniors Urian Vasquez and Rafaella Mark are spearheading the project, under the guidance of Chloe Sharples, who founded the project. Sharples was involved in a similar production as a student at Colorado College and then adapted the format for high schools. Most recently, she worked with students at St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, TX, where the final performance was deeply moving for the entire community. Participation is completely optional and anonymous. In Urian's words, "We look forward to hearing your hilarious, awkward, devastating, and touching stories alike!"
TAP SPOTLIGHT:
NM CENTER FOR THERAPEUTIC RIDING
By Indie Desiderio-Sloane '23

The mission of the New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding (NMTCR) is to expand and enrich the lives of children, youth, and adults with special needs through equine-assisted activities and therapies. NMCTR works with local schools (SFPS, NMSD, SFIS), the SF youth shelter, and individuals of all ages in need.

Prep students in the NMCTR TAP help with horse care and assist individuals with special needs during a therapeutic riding lesson. Additionally, the NMCTR TAP has elected to help with an ongoing fundraising campaign: The Full Stride Ahead Campaign will enable the organization to add two more PATH Intl. Certified Riding Instructors, two more therapeutic riding horses, and serve more individuals, reducing NMCTR's waiting list of over 50 people!
