Glad Grads (and their loved ones)!

Smiles, laughter and happy tears at the June 20 graduation for the first-ever cohort of Empowering Abilities! Ten incredible fellows completed this groundbreaking program designed to prepare people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for professional careers through hands-on training, mentorship, and leadership development. Congratulations and we can't wait to see what you do next!

Keep Rolling Out Those Diplomas!

Speaking of graduations, congrats to Patience (DSP, CLS)! Patience earned her master’s degree in healthcare administration from University of Maryland Global Campus. Patience has worked at The Arc for more than 10 years.
In addition, from our C&YS program, After All students Jordan and Hannah are new high school graduates, as is Victoria who is a Teacher Assistant. You should be proud of what you have accomplished...we certainly are!

Annual Picnic & Community, Volunteer, & Employee Awards

Our yearly awards ceremony and picnic celebration was a huge success! We enjoyed good food, fun activities, and special moments honoring the community members, volunteers, and employees who make our mission possible. Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us celebrate community, inclusion, and impact. We can't wait to see you all next year!

We Are A Top Workplace

We did it! The Arc Montgomery County has been named a Top Workplace in the Greater Washington area!
The award is based solely on the feedback many of you gave through the employee survey we sent out a few months ago. More than 50% of our employees participated, and we sincerely thank you for your input.
Being named a Top Workplace is an outstanding recognition that sets our organization apart. We’re honored, especially because the judges were you, our employees!
As we continue to grow and evolve, we remain deeply committed to creating a workplace where people love what they do—and feel inspired to do their best every day.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting the work we do to build a more inclusive community for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It's Always A Time For Pride

If you didn't know, get familiar because July is Disability Pride Month! It's an annual observance celebrating people with disabilities, commemorating the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and promoting disability culture and visibility. This year's theme is "We Belong Here, and We're Here to Stay!" It delivers a powerful message—people with disabilities are a vital part of every community. Not someday. Not conditionally. Now. You can share stories using the hashtags #DisabilityPride and #DisabilityPrideMonth
In addition, The Arc Montgomery County will be at Disability Pride Outside which is happening on Saturday, July 26 from 9:30 am - 1 pm at Black Hill Discovery Center. Join us!
