Jesika Lento is Stony Brook University’s Assistant Director of Student Life Operations and Initiatives. On a daily basis, she is responsible for budget management, student onboarding and implementing the Office of Student Life’s strategic goals. She owes much of her success to her passion for higher education administration, her desire to help students thrive and some key mentors who helped her along the way.
Nominations are due Tuesday, March 31, for several awards for Stony Brook faculty and staff: CELT Excellence in Teaching, Excellence in Educational Effectiveness, Outstanding Lecturer, Outstanding Mentor, and Stony Brook Trustees Faculty Award.

The Institute for Creative Problem Solving (ICPS) provides advanced academic enrichment for Long Island’s highest achieving students in math and science. Open to rising 5–10th graders, ICPS meets on Saturday mornings throughout the academic year. Participants investigate complex mathematical topics, work with expert faculty on a variety of hands-on projects, and learn from industry-leading guest speakers.
