1100 Spruce Parking Garage Reopening Schedule |
The 1100 Spruce parking garage will begin a phased reopening for parking on Friday, Oct. 16, 2026.
The major renovation is complete, including the structural repairs that will help keep the garage safe, durable and in service for many years to come.
As with many projects involving an older building, crews uncovered some unexpected structural issues once work was underway. Addressing these issues properly added approximately 15 days to the project schedule. We chose to take the time needed to complete the repairs correctly rather than rush work that is important to the long-term safety and performance of the garage.
Here is what you can expect during the phased reopening:
Oct. 16: The garage opens for parking on all levels, including all ADA spaces.
Elevators: Both elevators will be out of service when the garage opens due to supply chain delays. We will install them as soon as the parts arrive and will let you know when they are running.
Glass enclosure and skylight: The remaining work will be finished after opening.
Payment and permits: The garage is still gateless. Please register your vehicle with Metropolis at app.metropolis.io before you park. Permit holders and enterprise accounts should confirm their 11th & Spruce assignment in their Metropolis account or app.
As construction, cleaning, and final touch-up work will continue after opening, please follow barricades, posted pedestrian routes and signs.
We appreciate the community’s patience throughout this project. The improvements at 1100 Spruce are an important investment in the garage and in downtown Boulder, and we’re looking forward to welcoming people back.
If you have any questions, please contact us at garageupdates@bouldercolorado.gov.

Under Senate Bill 20-200, Colorado businesses that have been operating for at least two years and have five or more employees are required to offer a qualified retirement savings plan or participate in an eligible program. Businesses that do not meet the requirement may face financial penalties beginning in 2027. Employers must certify with the Colorado Department of the Treasury that they offer a qualifying plan.
