Last week, the Gwinnett Place CID Board Chair Trey Ragsdale and Executive Director Joe Allen joined community leaders from across the county in attending the annual State of the County Address.
The event provides an opportunity for county leadership to share updates on key initiatives, economic development, infrastructure improvements and priorities for the year ahead. It also serves as a chance for community and business leaders to connect and learn more about the county’s continued efforts to support growth and quality of life across Gwinnett.
During her remarks, Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson highlighted the county’s vision for redevelopment and community growth, pointing to the transformation of Gwinnett Place Mall as a clear example of that future. As she noted, the county is “reclaiming it and transforming it into a mixed-use destination with housing, retail and greenspace,” building on the memories the site holds for generations while creating new opportunities for families, entrepreneurs and neighbors to gather.
The Gwinnett Place CID will continue to work alongside county partners and fellow CIDs to support initiatives that strengthen the district and the broader Gwinnett community.

The Gwinnett CIDs recently participated in Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s Citizen’s Advisory Board Winter Advance, where they served as the event’s featured panel. The discussion highlighted the evolving role of Community Improvement Districts and showcased CID-led efforts focused on graffiti removal, trash mitigation and corridor beautification.

During the discussion, the impact of these efforts was clear. Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful’s countywide work in 2025 resulted in the removal of 175,527 pounds of litter and 2,275 illegal signs from Gwinnett roadways. Of that total, the Gwinnett Place CID alone removed 77,720 pounds of litter — nearly 44% of the countywide total — and 1,284 illegal signs, accounting for more than 56% of all signs removed across Gwinnett County.

The panel also explored opportunities for greater collaboration between Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful and the county CIDs, particularly around sustainability initiatives and expanding green infrastructure throughout the districts.
