My dear fellow Patriots,
This week’s inauguration marked a day of many firsts that celebrates the country our Constitution implores us to be. And whether we consider ourselves to be political or not, this past year has shown us the impact that institutions can have on our everyday lives in so many ways. With that shone the importance of participating in the democratic process alongside data-driven best practices.
And within that is the power of one voice.
So I’d like to use this space to lift up Inaugural Poet Amanda Gorman and her poem “The Hill We Climb.” (Click here for subtitled video.)
Whether you are new or returning, native born or from international shores, we welcome you as an integral, valued, and sought member of the Mason Nation.
Mason grads play a pivotal role in the richness, research, and economy of the region and nation. GAPSA is here to advocate for Mason graduate and professional student success through professional and social opportunities and collaboration with university leaders, faculty, undergraduates, and the larger community.
We look forward to the important conversations, events, and other initiatives we will actualize together this year.
Cheers to a year of wellness,
Lili Deveneau GAPSA President Sociology MA Student
