New Resource: Running the First Practice
|
One of the first steps of every season is planning your first team practice! Our new resource guides you through preparation, spreading the word, goal-setting, and activities to use to get students interested and excited.
|
|
|
|
Example—Musical Chairs Jigsaw: Play a version of musical chairs to randomly pair students to answer fun questions like, Would you rather always say everything on your mind or never speak again? and Would you rather have a head the size of a tennis ball or the size of a watermelon? Then have them discuss their reasoning and play again. This is an easy way to break the ice and get them talking and moving.

Granting Permissions for Coaches
|
If you're lucky enough to have a team of coaches working for your program, did you know you can grant them specific permissions to help with your team administration? There are three levels of access:
- Advisors: Can do all things on behalf of the school.
-
Coaches: Can earn points and access resources but have no administrative powers.
- Coaches with Permissions: Advisors have granted them specific administrative powers. The options are:
-
Edit School - Change school account information.
- Manage Members - Approve link requests, add or remove students and coaches from the roster.
- Manage Finances - Generate and pay invoices.
-
Enter Points - Manually enter points for students or approve autoposted points.
- NSDA Voting - Vote on behalf of the school on topics or in elections.
To change permissions, advisors can log in to their account, select the Coaches tab from their school profile, select the pencil icon next to a coach's name, and use the toggles to set their permissions or elevate them to advisor status.
It's also a good idea to review who all has access to your school. If there are former advisors or coaches listed on your roster who don't work with your school anymore, select the pencil icon and choose to archive them to remove their access to school and student information.
