Sinceramente,

Dear Laguna Honda Residents and Families,
We are very excited about the upcoming reestablishment of visitation at Laguna Honda Hospital. I know that it has been a tremendous challenge being physically separated from family and friends during the past six months. I am so thankful and proud of the sacrifices you have made during this extended period. Your sacrifices have made a real difference. They were instrumental in keeping the Laguna Honda community safe.
We look forward to seeing visitors again for both outdoor and vehicle visits beginning on Monday, September 28th.
Your Resident Care Team will reach out directly to family and friends to schedule a visit. All visits will be scheduled, and unscheduled visitation requests will not be permitted.
You may have questions about how visitation will work during a pandemic and what precautions are being taken to ensure that they happen as safely as possible. Please rest assured that we have gone to great lengths to ensure the ongoing safety of our residents. As such, our visitation plan remains consistent with the Health Order permitting modified reopening.
It is important to keep in mind that this is a modified visitation program. It will not be the same visitation process that was in place prior to the pandemic. The pandemic is far from over; therefore, we will continue to take the steps necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community.
To learn more about how visits will work, please review the linked “Laguna Honda Hospital COVID-19 Visitation Guidelines.” This information is also posted on LHH’s website at LagunaHonda.org/COVID19-visit.
Updated COVID-19 Numbers
Earlier this week, Laguna Honda reached a milestone: zero active COVID-19 cases. This was a tremendous accomplishment! It is through our collective efforts that we have consistently succeeded in minimizing the spread of COVID-19 at Laguna Honda.
However, we know that as long as COVID-19 remains in the Bay Area, it also remains a threat to our community. This morning, we identified a new COVID-19 case among residents through universal testing. The resident has been transferred to our dedicated COVID-19 unit.
At Laguna Honda, we have had 89 positive COVID-19 cases since our first known case in March 2020. There have been 26 resident cases and 63 staff cases. Currently, there is one active resident case and no active staff cases.
COVID-19 dashboards with LHH’s staff and resident case numbers are available online at LagunaHonda.org/COVID19.
Please continue to help us fight this virus by social distancing, wearing a face covering, and washing your hands frequently.
If you have any questions about LHH’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic or the safety and wellness of our community, your resident care team is available.
Please keep healthy and safe.
