Dr. Bart Stykes Presents at TEDxSHSU |
"Invisible students are those who fly under the radar, whose needs and circumstances often go unnoticed. Dr. Bart Stykes shares insights from his current research on one invisible student group: the student parent – a college student who has at least one child under 18. Drawing on his research, he argues that seeing the invisible student is the essential first step in equipping them to succeed."

Dr. Jadwiga Biskupska Appointed Harold Keith Johnson Visiting Chair in Military History at the US Army War College |
"Spending a year at the United States Army War College (USAWC) as Johnson chair is a huge honor and I'm very grateful to have been invited. The USAWC is a community of scholars and military practitioners who think together about the past and future of war—in theory and, for the students, who are colonels and lieutenant colonels in the US Army and from other allied armies, very much in practice. I'll be teaching there and also working on a book project on ethnic cleansing and insurgency in eastern Europe during World War II.
Since I was a graduate student, I have taught topics on the history of war and violence to many different communities of students, including civilians, enlisted military veterans, and officer cadets like our own ROTC
students. Teaching about these topics to men and women who are implementing some of the major lessons of the recent past is a new opportunity for me and I am eager to learn from their questions and insights. I hope I'll be able to take some of the things I've learned here at Sam and bring them to USAWC and vice versa."
