Greeting Digesters!
Don't let the picture of Spencer and Andrew above fool you. It's been HOT here in Big Sur. June Gloom was a no-show. In fact, last we heard June Gloom was spotted at an oceansde cantina in Puerto Escondido nibbling on a shrimp cocktail. "Forward my mail here from now on," it said.
Flies are everywhere. An un-named Library staffer is sleeping in less clothes than usual. Magnus bought a fan. Theo is fanning himself and drinking a mint julip like a male-feline Rue McClanahan.
But it's not that bad really. Here's our June Digest then!
"Night of the Living Dawn" features Henry's 5th wife Hoki Tokuda in attendance!
On June 23, short film returned the Library in the form of "Night of the Living Dawn," an evening curated by our good friend and acclaimed filmmaker Dawn Westlake.
Check out some photos from the evening here.
What's more, the night had a super-duper VIP in attendance: Henry's 5th wife, Hoki Tokuda!  Here's a picture of (left to right) Dawn, Magnus, Hoki, and Hoki's niece Humi!
"Most of us are living far below our potential" - Henry Miller
"Tropic of Cancer" was published when Henry was 42 years of age. Not ancient — especially for writers, who tend to bloom like a mint julip later in life — but he was no spring chicken either.
It was an arduous journey riddled with many obstacles, both figurative and literal. To that end, one of the recurring themes through his entire body of work is how societal norms, expectations, and responsibilities keep us from embracing life to the fullest.
Henry expounds further on this thinking in this video below!
What have you been into?  Tell us out-of-touch hillbillies here in the sticks!
Are you binge-watching "Game of Thrones?" Fair enough. Downing espresso at the new cafe down the street? Wasting away the hours on a cool web site where the kitten plays with the squirrel?

You can do better, but tell us about it anyway by sending us a video — under 5 minutes — documenting what, precisely, is rocking your world! Email us at hmlib@henrymiller.org!

Need an inspiring example?  Check out our pal Mikloz Fläckman's spell-binding entry below!
(shown on our big screen to great acclaim last summer!)
