CDC updates COVID-19 reporting, infection control guidance for assisted living communities
The CDC acknowledged that assisted living communities, which have yet to receive federal COVID-19 relief funding, serve the same vulnerable populations as skilled nursing facilities and nursing homes that have received federal aid to combat the virus.
Assisted living communities should refer to guidance from state and local officials when making decisions about relaxing restrictions (e.g., easing visitor restrictions, allowing group activities, or restoring communal dining).
