CA State Fair Commercial Beer & Cheese Competitions are Now Open
Two major competitions for the 2018 California State Fair open today - Commercial Beer and Commercial Cheese. We are looking for ALL commercial brewers and cheese makers in California to enter their creations and possibly be recognized as the BEST in the entire state!
CA State Fair Commercial Beer Competition
Currently, the third largest beer competition in the country; placing at the 2018 CA State Fair competition comes with some major bragging rights. There are about 900 breweries in California, and last year just under 400 breweries entered 1,488 beers. So beers that win here really are the best!
Winners have an opportunity to showcase their best craft brews during the 2018 California State Fair at the Best of California Brewfest on Saturday, July 21. Winners from all categories will be recognized at an awards luncheon prior to Brewfest.
CA State Fair Commercial Cheese Competition
Cheesemakers from all over the Golden State are invited to submit their California-made cheeses. Entries range from small artisans to largescale productions.
The winners of the CA Commercial Cheese Competition will be invited to sample their products at the "Cheese Shoppe" during the 2018 CA State Fair, July 13-29.
The Best of Show winners from Beer, Cheese, Wine and Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be recognized at a media event on June 21 on the steps of the Capitol. Later that evening, winners from each category are invited to sample their brew during the Best of California Tasting reception prior to the California State Fair Gala on June 21.
