Friday, October 18  | Fall Semester 2019

Speak with ISSS before making any late schedule changes for Fall 2019!

This is a reminder that you must stay enrolled in your courses - do not withdraw. Dropping below full-time enrollment this late in the term could cause you to lose your legal status. If you plan to make any schedule changes, speak with ISSS first.

For under-enrollment, you do not need to schedule an appointment. Come to 214 MacMillan during walk-in hours, which are Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00-4:30pm.

Last Chance to Add Classes for Fall 2019
The last group of courses (late six-week sprints) begin Wednesday, October 23rd and the deadline to force-add is Thursday, October 24th. If you need to add additional credits, you must make changes now before these classes begin. You can use the Course List to search for late six-week sprint courses.

Enrollment & Legal Status

If you drop a class after October 24th, it will probably not be possible to add classes to reach full-time enrollment. Loss of legal status is severe and could negatively impact future visa eligibility. Review the enrollment requirements below to ensure that your legal status is safe:
  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits total. Nine of those credits must be in-person (not online).
  • Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 9 credits total. Six of those credits must be in-person (not online).
  • Hybrid courses that are coded as 50% or more online will not count as in-person courses.

Experience the Great American Tradition of Professional Football

One of the (many) great things about being an international student in the US is the opportunity to experience uniquely American cultural traditions. American Professional Football (NFL), the most popular sport in the US, is one of those great cultural experiences.

Witnessing the game day spirit, feeling the energy of 60,000 fans, and taking part in the spectacle of a game at Paul Brown Stadium in downtown Cincinnati is an enriching experience even if you don’t understand all the rules of American football.

ISSS will take a bus trip to an NFL Game, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, November 10 from 11am to 5pm.
A limited number of tickets are available for $45, which includes transportation. The deadline to register is November 1. Don't miss this opportunity to experience first-hand a great American sporting tradition!
