Dear graduate students,  

Good luck with the final push of fall term. If you want a break — and free food — consider joining us this Friday, Dec. 2 from 3-5 p.m. for the gradCONNECT Film Fest in the EMU Redwood Auditorium.
We will screen three short films created by UO grad students and enjoy snacks and conversation in a welcoming and stress-free environment. Interested? Submit your RSVP.

Important: Elsevier Negotiation Stalled 

After multiple attempts, UO Libraries has been unable to reach a fair deal with Elsevier for its journal subscription contract renewal. This means researchers will need to use new methods to access Elsevier journal content starting in 2023. Visit this UO Libraries page for more info including:
UO will resume negotiations in 2023 and continue to push for a fair deal.

Graduate Research Forum 

Consider signing up to participate in the Graduate Research Forum before you disconnect for break. Submit a title for your research and a brief abstract here. Enjoy your time off and develop your poster/presentation when classes resume in January. The deadline to submit research proposals is Jan. 10, 2023.

Paid Summer Fellowships for Graduate Students in 2023 at Sandia National Laboratories 
Universities Research Association is seeking applications for paid Summer Fellowships at Sandia National Laboratories. URA anticipates making up to eleven appointments within Sandia's participating Research Foundation, including: Bioscience; Computing and Information Science; Earth Science; Material Science; Nanodevices and Microsystems; and Radiation, Electrical and High Energy Density Science. Applicants must be full-time masters or doctoral graduate students and US Persons (any United States citizen or person admitted for permanent residence in the United States). Clinical Psychology PhD student, Yoel Everett, is tackling this problem by developing a new program that addresses parental mental health and parenting quality in a single group-based intervention.
