• On November 13, Computer Science, Data Science & Engineering organized a visit to leading tech company Tencent for over 40 students from multiple majors. Representatives from Tencent gave a comprehensive introduction to the company, including its development history, business lines, products, and organizational structure, and led the group on an interactive guided tour.
• Last Saturday, Clinical Associate Professor of Literature Anna Kendrick’s Liberal Studies’ Cultural Foundations III: Arts and Cultures of Modernity and The Global Experimental: Modernism and Beyond classes and Associate Professor of History and European Studies Alex C.T. Geppert’s Europe's long Twentieth Century class visited the Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum for a guided tour. The tour was to prepare them for a conversation over Zoom on Wednesday with 105-year old Holocaust survivor Ruth Sherman who lived in Shanghai from 1939 to 1947 after fleeing Berlin.Â
• As part of the AI as Life and Work Partner Series, the Library and the Staff Council’s Professional Development Committee organized two hands-on sessions on practical AI tools to boost efficiency and creativity—whether in learning, research, or daily work.

Safety First!Campus Safety Week offered a wide range of activities throughout the week to spread awareness of safety best practices, from first aid training to self-defense workshops. Campus Safety even organized a visit to the Qiantan Fire Station and a lab safety open house. A visit by therapy dogs, including this adorable pug, brought smiles to many faces.
