R01/R21 Grant Writing Group - March review session
The next review session will be held later in March. If you are interested in presenting draft grant materials (e.g., aims, partially or fully written grant, resubmission, etc.) for group review, please complete this sign up form. Scheduling decisions will prioritize the first 4 researchers who sign up with compatible availability. This will be a 2-hour session, similar to a mock study section, in which everyone is expected to review each other’s materials in advance and participate for the entire session.

The goal of the NIA’s Research Centers Collaborative Network (RCCN) is to bring together researchers from the 7 NIA Centers programs to foster the development of cross-center collaborations around issues important to the health and well-being of older adults. The RCCN's fourteenth workshop, “Multidisciplinary Research in Aging/Team Science”, will be held May 20-21, 2026, in Bethesda, Maryland. The scope of the workshop is broad and includes these themes: Multidisciplinary Teams, Early Translation, Multidisciplinary Communities/Geroscience, and Tools and Barriers in Multidisciplinary Research.
Travel Awards are available for approximately 10 early career investigators or investigators in-training, who will participate in a special session on May 20, that will focus on career development. The travel awards will cover travel to and from the meeting, meals, and hotel accommodations.

Aging Gene Discovery (AGeD) Collaborative NSC Pilot Awards
Deadline: March 23, 2026
The goal of this program is to identify new genes and gene networks that control aging and age-associated disease processes. Early-stage investigators focusing on aging and/or geroscience research (the latter as the study of processes linking aging to the etiology of age-associated dysfunction and disease) or senior investigators initiating new research programs in aging/geroscience research are encouraged to apply. Awards will typically range from $38,000 to $75,000, depending on the complexity of the project and reagent costs, among other factors.

NIA IMPACT Collaboratory Health Care Systems Scholars Program
Deadline: April 2, 2026
This is a 1-year mentored experience designed to support immersion of mid-career investigators (MD, PhD, or equivalent) within a health care system to foster durable partnerships, advance system-informed research priorities, and lay the groundwork for future embedded pragmatic clinical trials in dementia care.

NIA Expanding Research in AD/ADRD (ERA) Summer Research Education Program
Deadline: April 27, 2026
The overarching goal of this National Institute on Aging (NIA) R25 program is to support educational activities that compliment and/or enhance training opportunities to ensure a workforce that is well prepared to meet the nation’s biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs, help recruit individuals with specific specialty or disciplinary backgrounds to research careers in biomedical, behavioral and clinical sciences and foster a better understanding of biomedical, behavioral and clinical research and its implications.

The National Institute on Aging (NIA) intends to publish a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) that uses the NIH Emerging Leaders Career Development Award to administer the Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders Career Development Award in Aging program. This NOFO invites early-stage physicians and other health professional investigators with a commitment to aging and/or aging-related diseases to apply for this award with the goal of advancing their research and leadership skills in their specialty and in the broader field of aging and geriatrics research.
