Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Lecture
On Monday, January 16, the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Lecture will bring to light the continuing struggle for civil rights. This year's lecture will feature Professor Jonathan L. Walton with a keynote address entitled "It Was All A Dream...". This lecture examines the role of faith and moral imagination in the ethical thought and public protests of Martin Luther King, Jr. The lecture will be live streamed.
Social ethicist and scholar of American religions Jonathan L. Walton is the Plummer
Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard University and Pusey Minister in Harvard’s
Memorial Church. He is also a professor of religion and society on the faculty of divinity.

Alumni Awards Nominations 
Each year, the Gustavus Alumni Association gives awards to honor alumni and friends of the College who have notably advanced and aided the institution, demonstrated exceptional career achievement and brought honor to the College, and have made distinctive commitments and contributions to the service of others. The awards open for nomination include:
  • Distinguished Alumni Citation
  • Anniversary Awards - First Decade Award, Silver Anniversary Award, Golden Anniversary Award
  • Greater Gustavus Award
Nominate a fellow Gustie by March 1, 2017. Award recipients will be honored during Homecoming weekend, September 22-23, 2017.
