My highest priorities during this challenge are the safety of the people we support and of our 488 employees. I am so proud of our staff in every department and division who have risen to meet this unprecedented challenge, most of whom are working on the front lines delivering critical support services. Their families are counting on continued paychecks as they face their own challenges. This responsibility weighs heavily on my shoulders.
Even in the best of circumstances, changes in government funding formulas has created a critical gap in funding that we were prudently working to overcome. This health crisis has created the need for unbudgeted expenses—items like masks, gloves, electronic thermometers, and household supplies—to ensure the health of both our employees and the people they support.
