Spring has definitely arrived! The poppies and bluebonnets are blooming and the birds are singing. A very cool app I’m using is the Merlin Bird ID, courtesy of The Cornell Lab. While walking the campus in the morning, I’m recording bird calls and thus far have identified a Bewick’s Wren, Northern Cardinal, and the Black-crested Titmouse. Love it.
Many thanks to everyone for contributing to SU’s Giving Day. All previous records were broken and together we raised over $600,000 for student financial aid.
As of today, we are just about a month from Commencement so tell your friends and family to come on over to the high school Saturday, May 7, to cheer our seniors as they take that long walk across the stage!
Happenings on Campus
Escape Room in the Library - Yes, you read that right! I love escape rooms, although I have never figured out the puzzle! This week, the library is hosting a 1920s Egyptian-themed, on-campus escape room. Reserve your spot today.
Spring Family Day - This Friday and Saturday, there are multiple events happening all across campus and Georgetown for you and your families to enjoy!
Career Connections BBQ - This Friday, enjoy a BBQ meal (non-meat options available) while you get career advice one-on-one or in small groups with alumni from diverse fields across all six of the Center for Career & Professional Development’s career communities.
Karaoke Night - Friday night, join Student Activities for a night of Karaoke and fun (a million bonus points if you karaoke with your parents)!
