We continue to highlight the contributions of women in both history and contemporary society. On March 17, the 35th Annual Reinkemeyer Research Day conference will be held in honor of former dean Sister Agnes Reinkemeyer who believed research was key in nursing education and practice.

The ACE Women’s Network – NJ Spring Conference will be hosted by Seton Hall on March 24 at 9 a.m. The ACE Women’s Network is a statewide, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and advancing women leaders’ professional development in New Jersey colleges and universities. All are welcome to attend.

Save The Date! On March 31, Seton Hall presents the Conference on Women and Gender 2023. This year’s keynote address will be delivered by Carol Hay, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, and author of Think Like a Feminist: The Philosophy Behind the Revolution (W.W. Norton, 2020).

Fear of Black Consciousness Lecture
On March 15 at 4 p.m. Lewis Gordon, Ph.D., one of the leading scholars working on racism, anti-blackness, and black existentialism, come to campus to speak about topics and arguments in his most recent book, Fear of Black Consciousness (2022).

Film Black Russians: The Red Experiment On March 16 an award-winning filmmaker Yelena Demikovsky will present her new, much talked about documentary film project Black Russians: The Red Experiment.

Alberto Italian Studies Institute Event Enjoy a lecture by Bianca Rita Cataldi from University College Dublin, Alberto Institute Visiting Scholar on March 20 at 6 p.m. in the Walsh Library Beck Rooms.

Diversity Reading Group: House of Sticks Join the Diversity Reading Group for a discussion of House of Sticks (2021), Ly Tran’s moving memoir about her journey as a young girl from Vietnam to Queens, New York.

Walsh Gallery exhibit: Matter + Spirit features 25 artists from China and North America, including Lauren Schiller, Professor of Fine Arts. The exhibit runs through April 28 on the first floor of University Libraries.

Irish American Heritage Month
In March, we celebrate the contributions of Irish Americans in our nation’s history. March 17 is St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday started in Ireland to recognize St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland who brought Christianity to the country in the early days of the faith.

Seton Hall Pirates of Irish Persuasion (PIPE) club exists so all students interested in the Irish experience may explore, via participation in social, educational, and charitable activities, Irish and Irish American traditions and culture.
