(SACRAMENTO, CA) – California State Fair announced today the addition of an all-new “Bank of America Selfie Experience”, produced by Stage Nine at the 2019 California State Fair, July 12- 28th. The exhibit is free with admission to the California State Fair, and will feature unique, photo-friendly environments for fairgoers to liven up their social media with vibrant and stylish pictures.
“We are excited to enhance the California experience by helping to turn fantasies into creative realism,” said Rick Pickering, Cal Expo General Manager and CEO. “As we bring enhanced patron experiences through the use of technology, imagination and fun, we are pleased to partner with Bank of America, an iconic company that was formed in California.”
Fairgoers will begin their selfie experience with a shabby-chic 1970s era waiting room, complete with unorthodox paintings and uncomfortable chairs. Next, participants will be ushered into a Willy Wonka inspired world of giant cookies, donuts, candy canes, forest pops, and other towering treats. Guests will also visit the “Game of Thorns” exhibit, inspired by the hit television series "Game of Thrones". It will feature a giant, custom made throne covered in prickly roses, and other spiny foliage to make guests feel as if they’ve become “Ruler of The Roses.”
“Stage Nine is excited to bring its new and fascinating visual technologies to the 2019 CA State Fair,” said Troy Carlson, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of Stage Nine. “This technology will help enhance the selfie experience by creating immersive and visually engaging environments for fairgoers to capture on their smartphones and to share with family and friends.”
The selfie experience will utilize projection mapping that helps transform most objects in a room into an interactive screen. Other selfie stations include a dinosaur themed “Jurassic Dark” experience, a “Money Pit” laced with gold bars, stacks of coin, and cash for those who like bling, and a “Rainbow Connection” room filled with a larger-than-life, rainbow ball pit, which will serve as a wrap-up to a truly memorable selfie experience at the 2019 California State Fair.
