Professor of Biology Peter Hodum
presented to a meeting of the Surfrider Foundation on Feb. 8. Hodum spoke about the how marine pollution affects seabirds in human-dominated landscapes and answered questions from attendees. The Surfrider Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to protecting oceans and coastlines through advocacy and a nationwide network of volunteers.

Submissions for NPR’s 2024 Tiny Desk Contest close this week and the panel of judges includes Puget Sound alumnus Nabil Ayers ’93. The musician with the winning entry will be invited to perform live at NPR Headquarters in Washington, D.C., as part of the Tiny Desk Concert series, go on tour with NPR Music, and receive career coaching from an industry veteran.

Black Studies, New Futures

Last week, three alumni of the African American Studies program returned to campus for "Black Studies, New Futures," a panel discussion about how their studies influenced their career paths and lives.
