St. Francis College Among Recipients of Grant to Increase Diversity in STEM Fields

SFC is one of seven Catholic institutions of higher education in New York State that were recently awarded a five-year $3.5 million grant by the National Science Foundation’s Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program.

| Reflection by SFC Professor Published in Art Journal
“Louis Carlos Bernal’s Photographs of TV Screens and Domestic Interiors,” a reflection by Jennifer Wingate, professor of art history and interdisciplinary studies, appears in the summer issue of Panorama, a journal that focuses on visual and material culture. The reflection is part of At Home with Political Portraits, a book Professor Wingate is writing about photographs of the domestic display of U.S. presidents.

| “Blues” Summer Continues
Upcoming area screenings of the The Blues Society, the award-winning documentary by Augusta Palmer, chair of the SFC Media and Communication Department, include those at the Orpheum Theatre in Saugerties, NY (July 8), and Woods Hole Film Festival on Cape Cod (July 30). On July 9, the film is set to be released for rental or purchase on Apple, Amazon and other streaming platforms.
