Bulletin 20   |   June 2, 2021

Some of you are already on your summer break as you receive this final ’20-21 TfT Bulletin. Others are in the finishing moments and closing routines of the academic calendar.

This school year will always be associated with COVID-19. But as I reflect on the TfT learning stories that have been shared in the last nine months, our network of schools did not let the pandemic define our year.

Thank you, Christian school educators, for pressing on, for serving your students in the strength of the Spirit. On behalf of the TfT team at CACE, I wish you a summer of delight, relaxation and rejuvenation. May this prayer from Ted Loder's Guerillas of Grace serve as a Blessing as we head into our summer break.

Draw Me to Yourself
In this moment
draw me to yourself, Lord,
and make me aware
not so much of what I’ve given
as of all I have received
and so have yet to share.
Send me forth
            in power and gladness
                        and with great courage
to live out in the world
                                               what I pray and profess,
that, in sharing,
            I may do justice,
                        make peace,
                                    grow in love,
                                                enjoy myself,
                                                            other people,
                                                                        and your world now,
                                                                                    and you forever.
                                                                                                Amen.

TfT Summer Masterclasses: Fantastic Registration Numbers!

We are delighted with the registration for the 5 different streams of this summer’s virtual professional development opportunity: primary, intermediate, middle, Social Studies and Mathematics. To date, we have registered over 55 TfT teachers from 18 TfT schools. It is shaping up to be the collaborative, deepening TfT learning experience we imagined.

Some schools are still finalizing TfT professional development plans, so we are keeping the registration link active for further registrants. All teachers who have completed the early adopter training are eligible for the masterclasses. Either license renewal or continuing education credits are available for these sessions.

Masterclass information and registration links can be found here. Please contact me (Darryl DeBoer) with any questions.”

Teaching for Transformation Graduate Course: Dordt University

After a highly successful launch year, we are pleased to announce that Dordt University will again offer a graduate-level course in Teaching for Transformation.

The deadline for registration is August 2, 2021.

This online, two-semester course closely follows the learning plans of the eight-day TfT implementation schedule and is designed for teachers or administrators that are new(ish) to a TfT school or for veteran TfT teachers desiring to sharpen their design skills while earning credit. Based on feedback from our TfT network, next year’s course can be taken either for three graduate credits or for licensure renewal credits. As before, this course is offered to the TfT network at 50% of the regular tuition rate for Dordt’s graduate courses. Further information, including registration links, can be found here.

TfT Mentorship for School Leaders New to TfT Schools

Plans are underway to support administrators new to TfT who are joining a TfT school this year. If your school is experiencing a leadership change, please connect with me (darryl.deboer@cace.org) to find out more details.

Save the Date! TfT Instructional Coaching Intensive Is Back!

We are grateful that, after going 100% virtual this year, we are returning to an in-person Instructional Coaching Intensive on Nov. 18 and 19 at Grace Community School in Tyler, Texas. Imagine how you can either begin or continue to nurture the practice of instructional coaching within your school. We will also host a pre-intensive day on Nov. 17 when we will introduce and provide training on a new TfT lesson design tool currently being piloted across the TfT network. Registration will remain open into September via this link.
