Message from the Associate Dean

I hope that everyone was able to take advantage of the University of Arizona holiday closure period and spend quality time with friends and family.  Times like this are important for us all as we strive to strike a sustainable balance in our working and personal lives.

As we embark upon a new year, full of new opportunities and challenges, I look forward to working with everyone in the Cooperative Extension System as we work together to advance and build our organization.

University Distinguished Outreach Faculty

Dan McDonald, Pima County CED, will receive the University Distinguished Outreach Faculty Award at the 20th Annual Induction Ceremony on January 11, 2018.  This award recognizes faculty who have made outstanding contributions to outreach at The University of Arizona, in the State of Arizona and the nation.  Congratulations Dan and thank you for all you do.

Tutorial on completing your APR (for County Extension Agents)

County Extension agents may wish to review the revised “How to Complete Your APR” tutorial available at: https://arizona.box.com/s/iue8u0qu5rvegx8ja0wf7px6do1mmbtt The Tutorial is based on the peer review criteria that was in effect last year! The peer review criteria voted on in November will be used to conduct reviews in 2019 for the current year’s performance. Also, please note that the tutorial is not intended to assist with using the UA Vitae system, but rather to assist with reporting performance based on the review criteria.

The APR Guidance Committee has changed its name to: Extension Peer Review Guidance Committee. Its members include: Dan McDonald (chair), Mike Hauser, Amy Parrott, Ayman Mostafa, and Traci Armstrong Florian.
