District Leveling

We periodically audit to see if your district is at the appropriate level. If you feel that your district has leveled up in between checks, please email erik.dominguez@speechanddebate.org and we'll take a look!

Selecting Your District's World Schools Debate Team

All Association districts are allowed to qualify up to two teams of three to five students to represent the district in the USA World Schools Debate Invitational, held during the NSDA National Tournament. As outlined in greater detail on page 91 of the High School Unified Manual, there are two options a district may use when selecting its World Schools team members.
  • Option A: Districts may invite alternates to be on the team.
  • Option B: Students apply to be considered. As part of the application process, consider asking students to explain how their embodiment of the Code of Honor qualifies them to represent the district on the national stage.

Recognize Student Achievement

Please encourage members of your district to nominate a graduating senior for consideration for your district's Student of the Year Award by completing this form
Chairs, when you report your tournament results, you'll also complete a form to tell us who received your district awards for coaches, students, and administrators by April 16

Leaders, Apply to Attend the 2019 Inclusion Workshop!

The 2019 NSDA Inclusion Workshop for coaches and educators is open for applications! The workshop will take place August 7-8 in Colorado Springs, following the National Conference. The workshop is free for attendees and limited financial support for housing is available.
Attendees will learn strategies for effective engagement in dialogue about racial diversity, inclusion, and achievement gaps in education. At the recommendation of our facilitators, space at the workshop is limited and the makeup of our attendees will reflect the demographics of our student membership.
