June 12, 2025 Club Leader Updates

Every 4-H club and chartered group in Washington County must fill out and turn in the Annual Financial Report by September 1st each year - but it can be turned in as early as July 1st. This report shows how your club handled money over the past year—what came in and what was spent.

It helps your club follow federal rules.
It helps keep your club’s tax-exempt status (which means you don’t have to pay certain taxes).
If you don’t turn it in, your club could lose that status and even lose its money or property.

What You Need to Submit:

The Annual Financial Report (use the official form).
Audit Checklist
Checkbook or savings account records from July 1 to June 30.
Bank statement ending on June 30 or July 1.

Steps to Complete the Report:

Gather your records: Collect receipts, bank statements, and checkbook logs from the past year.
Fill out the report: Use the form to list all income and expenses, following 4-H guidelines.
Do an audit: Have two people (not related to each other—ideally one youth and one adult) review the finances and fill out the Audit Checklist.
Submit everything: Send the report, audit checklist, checkbook/savings records, and bank statement to the Washington County 4-H Program Educator by September 1st.

🌟 Volunteer Opportunities:

1. STEM Day Camp
📅 June 23–25, 2025 (sign up for one or more days)
🕗 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 West Bend
👥 Volunteers: High school-aged 4-H youth (3 needed per day)

2. Germantown Safety Town – Farm Safety Puppet Show
📅 June 25, 2025
🕗 Shows at 8:45 AM, 10:15 AM, and 1:15 PM
📍 St. Boniface School, Germantown
🍦 Includes fun activities and ice cream for K5–1st graders
👥 Volunteers: 5th grade through high school (5 needed per show; sign up for one, two, or all three shows)

3. Build It! Day Camp
📅 June 30 – July 2, 2025 (sign up for one or more days)
🕗 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 West Bend
👥 Volunteers: High school-aged 4-H youth (3 needed per day)

4. Cloverbud Day Camp (Grades K–2)
📅 July 8 or July 9, 2025
🕘 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 West Bend
👥 Volunteers: 7th grade through high school (3 needed per day)

Want to show off what 4-H is all about? Here’s your chance!

This is a fun way to get involved at the fair by leading a hands-on activity and talking to visitors about 4-H. We’re looking for small groups (2–4 youth of any age and 1–2 adults) to sign up for a 2-hour shift at the booth.

📅 Dates: Tuesday, July 22 – Sunday, July 27
🕑 Shifts: 2 hours each (20 shifts total)
