Dear Parents,
We had a great first week back with the children and are so happy that they have returned. The children are enjoying seeing their teachers and friends and have been great about wearing their masks all day (those children over age two). Car line seems to be going smoothly in the mornings and afternoons. I wanted to remind you that we have a university holiday and we will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of July 4.
As a reminder, we are following the health and safety procedures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Louisiana Office of Public Health (OPH), and the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), which includes the health exclusion policy. This policy stipulates that any child who has fever or other COVID-19 related symptoms must be sent home for a minimum of 7 days, or 3 days after the resolution of symptoms, whichever is longer. In order for our facility to remain open, we are required to adhere to these standards.
While we do understand that there may be other reasons for symptoms (e.g., allergy), the guidelines require that we adhere to these exclusion criteria. As the Governor, LSU Administration, and the LSU Emergency Operations Center (EOC) move into new phases, we will update and follow those new guidelines as applicable and continue to communicate with families. Thank you for working with us in keeping our children and staff safe during this time. We consider it a privilege to serve your family. Best, Cyndi Executive Director
