Update
Condair released a Technical Bulletin (TB-21-04) on October 22nd, 2021, for the phase-out of cylinder 607. Due to the high demand of the conversation kit and supplier constraints on the parts, we have postponed the phase-out of cylinder 607. We will continue to accept orders for cylinder 607 until January 7, 2022. We expect to have the 605 cylinder conversion kit restocked by the end of 2021. The amended version of the technical bulletin is presented below.
Overview
As part of our ongoing efforts to optimize the performance of our products, Condair will be phasing out Cylinder 607 in favor of Cylinder 605.  Cylinder 607’s were used in the ES, ES MK2, MP, NHB, NHMC, NHP, NHPC, NHPC+, NHTC, and NHTC+ electrode steam humidifiers.  They are not used in NH-EL or the EL Series electrode steam humidifiers. 
Cylinder 607 will be phased out effective January 14, 2022. 
After this time 607 cylinders must be replaced with 605 cylinders.  A one-time installation of a wiring conversion kit is necessary to adapt humidifiers to the new 605 cylinder. 
Please inform your customers of this upcoming change to ensure the continued operation of the affected humidifiers.

Definition of Issue
Cylinder 607’s are “3 pin” cylinders which supply current to the water through 3 individual electrodes.  These cylinders have the highest amount of electrical current flow per pin and electrode of any cylinder.  As a result, they can be more prone to arcing and foaming, particularly on installations that do not have proper steam line installation or are not maintained correctly. 
Cylinder 605’s are “6 pin” cylinders that distribute power through 6 electrodes.  They provide equivalent performance and higher reliability in all scenarios. 
To convert humidifiers with cylinder 607 to accept 605’s a wiring conversion kit is required.  The wiring conversion kit replaces the cylinder lead wires and must be installed by properly qualified persons. This conversion kit only needs to be installed once and the humidifier will be permanently converted to accept 605 cylinders. 
Condair Action
The following action items will take place during the planned phase-out of cylinder 607. 
  1. PN: 1519087 - Cylinder 607 model will be discontinued and phased out of production with the last orders being received by January 7th, 2022.
  2. Conversion kits (listed below) will be available to convert the 3-pin model to a 6-pin model for both single and dual cylinder humidifiers. 
  3. Condair will begin to contact customers with open 607 orders to convert these to 605 orders with the conversion kits.   
  4. All the older models with the valid Serial number are eligible for a 20% discount on new EL Series models. 
  5. Orders from and before 2013 will have to purchase the conversion kit when replacing the cylinder.  
  6. Orders from and after 2014 will be eligible to get the conversion kit free of charge. 

Conversion Kits:
  • PN: 2571019 – Kit, Cyl. Conversion, 607 to 605 Single 
    Converts the single cylinder 607 3-pin model to a 6-pin model by replacing the existing cylinder wire set. 
  • PN: 2571020 – Kit, Cyl. Conversion, 607 to 605 Dual
    Converts the dual cylinder 607 3-pin humidifiers to a 6-pin model by replacing the existing cylinder wire set.  
Agent Action
We ask that Condair Agents please reach out to affected customers and arrange the installation of the retrofit required kits.
