Jamie Harris is the Interim Director of Tennessee 4-H

A veteran leader with an extensive history in 4-H has taken the reins of the organization. Jamie Harris is now the Interim Director of Tennessee 4-H Youth Development.

In her role, Harris will oversee all aspects of the organization, including continuing work on a strategic plan. Areas that might be tapped for improvement include strengthening partnerships with external stakeholders, diversifying projects to increase participation at the senior-high level and improving 4-H camping programs.

Co-op Round-N-Raise Campaign Supports Tennessee 4-H

The Co-op Round-N-Raise is a fundraising campaign that provides opportunities for local Co-op store customers to further support their communities by rounding up their purchases or giving a set donation to the Tennessee Farmers Cooperative Foundation.
For this first event, 28 of the state’s Co-ops participated, and the campaign raised $16,403, which goes directly back to the local 4-H and FFA of that store.

Meet Carol Coley McDonald
Carol Coley McDonald is a lifelong 4-H’er. She joined as a young girl, following in the footsteps of her older siblings and becoming active in the organization in fourth grade.

Her experience growing up paved the way for a career in agriculture, and today, she is the Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Assistant Commissioner for Policy and Legislation as well as a Tennessee 4-H Foundation Board member.

Successful Picnic at the Fair Funds 4-H Camp Scholarships
The Tennessee 4-H Foundation hosted the second annual Picnic at the Fair at the Tennessee State Fair/Wilson County Fair in Lebanon on Aug. 18.
With nearly 350 tickets sold, the fundraiser garnered more than $45,000 to support 4-H youth programs and, more specifically, 4-H summer camp scholarships for fourth, fifth and sixth graders.

4-H’ers Under 40
Tennessee 4-H Alumni and Friends is excited to announce the launch of a new recognition program called 4-H’ers Under 40 in 2024. This program aims to recognize young leaders who have made significant contributions to their communities and who are some of the brightest young leaders in their fields.
To be eligible for this recognition, nominees must be under the age of 40 on December 31, 2024. The program is open to all Tennessee 4-H alumni.
