The Department of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning (PELL) offers the Kids on Campus Program that fosters academic and personal enrichment for children in grades 1-12. NJCU’s Children’s Learning Center
At NJCU, it's not just college students receiving an affordable world-class education—young children of University students, alumni, and employees receive the same at the University's fully licensed and accredited Children's Learning Center (CLC). The center consists of a Preschool and Pre-K classroom as well as drop-in childcare services—all at an extremely competitive cost to parents.
*Eligible student parents will receive a 50% discount towards their child care tuition at the Children’s Learning Center. Applicants will be selected based on need and space availability. For further information, learn more.

A community gathering place and safe haven, the Palisades Family Success Center provides free support, referrals, activities, and life skills workshops to families in Hudson County, New Jersey. 13th Annual Project Warm Winter Drive
The NJCU Center for Community Engagement has launched the 13th Annual Project Warm Coat Drive. We encourage the university community to donate new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, and new socks to others in need.
The drive will run throughout the month of November and will benefit numerous local organizations. During past winter drives, we have provided coats for local homeless shelters, Women Rising, The York Street Project and to Jersey City public school children, among others. Smokey Mac and Cheese A Thanksgiving Side Dish all Kids Will Love
Ingredients: Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 1 pound dry rigatoni 4 cups heavy cream 1 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 3 shakes of your favorite hot sauce, optional 8 ounces cream cheese 8 ounces Gouda, shredded 1 cup panko breadcrumbs 1/2 cup grated pecorino 1/2 cup sliced scallions, optional Crispy chopped bacon Optional
Directions
- Heat a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions for al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Preheat your oven to 400 degree
- Lightly butter a deep 12-inch cast-iron skillet or baking dis
- Combine the cream, paprika, cayenne and hot sauce in a sautee pan. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and simmer until the cream mixture is reduced by half and thickened, about 5 minutes. Whisk in the cream cheese and Gouda until fully melted. Stir in the cooked pasta and continue to mix until fully combined and add to your cast iron skillet or baking dish
- Stir together the panko, pecorino and scallions in a separate bowl. Sprinkle the panko mixture evenly over the mac and cheese. Bake in a 400 degree oven until golden brown and bubbly, about 5-7 minutes. Add crispy chopped bacon and enjoy!
